Hey guys!
It's been a pretty crazy week, I've been out late for the past two nights, but today and tomorrow are dedicated to giving you all a huge dose of the Princess of Pop, Kylie Minogue. What better way to start than to show you my "Timebomb" inspired DIY shorts?

If you've seen my Pinterest boards lately, you may have seen this image I got from the music video for Kylie Minogue's Timebomb:

Those shorts automatically caught my eye, and I desperately wanted a pair. I went to M&J Trimming's website, and got a seam ripper, fabric glue, red fringe, black&gold bead fringe, and some needle and thread.

What You'll Need:
A pair of shorts  (not shown)
Seam ripper (not shown)
Fabric Glue (optional)
Fringe (fabric and bead- they can be any color you want!)

Step 1: Find a pair of distressed shorts, or distress a pair you already own. I used a pair of pre-distressed Forever21 suspender shorts. If you're doing your own distressing, a good tutorial can be found here

Step 2: (optional) If you don't want a cuff on your shorts, then cut them away with a seam ripper.

Step 3: Cut the legs of your shorts to the desired length. Make sure to measure carefully while wearing the shorts before cutting!

Step 4: Begin sewing your fringe on one of your back pockets! Just measure a strip of fringe, cut it, and start sewing (use fabric glue to attach it to your jeans first, if you prefer)!

I sewed through the entire pocket because I was too lazy to try sewing the fringe onto just the pocket flap, so I rendered the pocket defunct. Not a big deal, I'm not much of a back-pocket girl anyway.

Step 5: Alternate between fabric fringe and bead fringe until you have covered every visible inch of pocket with them. The end result should look like this!

I'm terrible at hand-sewing, so it took me about 2 hours to complete. On the bright side, I got a new sewing machine (my first ever), so I'll spend my weekend learning to use it!

**This is the first tutorial I've ever made! Let me know if there's any information you'd like me to add, and feel free to share any tips for a better one int he comments below!**
